Körven Studio began as a private obsession. I had a living room that never felt right. The furniture was fine, the paint was fine, and every evening the room still felt flat. I repainted a wall, moved a sofa twice, and nothing changed. Then I replaced a single overhead fixture with a small lamp in the corner, and the room finally looked like somewhere I wanted to sit.
That one change sent me down a long detour. I started reading about light the way other people read about coffee or cameras: color temperature, diffusion, the difference between a shade that scatters light and one that aims it. I bought lamps I could not really justify, carried them home, lived with them, and returned the ones that photographed well but felt cold at nine in the evening. My family got used to me switching everything off during dinner to see how one shade handled a low bulb.
For years this stayed a hobby. Friends asked me to help with their apartments, and I would spend an evening moving light around a room instead of buying new furniture. Almost every time, the fix was the same: fewer ceiling fixtures, more light at eye level, warmer bulbs, one piece with real presence instead of three forgettable ones.
Körven Studio is the point where that hobby became a way to provide for my family. I wanted work that stays close to the thing I actually care about, and that means every decision here is small and deliberate rather than fast and large. We are not trying to carry everything. We carry lighting, and we try to be genuinely useful about it.
When you choose a piece for your room, three questions help. Does the form work from more than one angle? Does the material support the shape instead of decorating it? Does the light itself - its brightness, direction, color temperature, and diffusion - do what your room needs?
A lamp spends half its life switched off. That sounds obvious, and most catalogs ignore it. A piece has to earn its place in daylight as an object, and again at night as a source of light. Both states matter, and both are worth thinking about before you choose.
Stone, glass, ceramic, wood, and metal each behave differently under light. Travertine softens a silhouette. Alabaster reveals its natural veining once the lamp is on. Glass diffuses or sharpens depending on its finish. Wood adds warmth before the switch is ever touched.
Because stone and wood are natural materials, color, veining, and texture vary from piece to piece. That variation is not a flaw; it is the character of the material, and it means the fixture you receive is slightly different from any other.
Size, voltage, mounting, bulb type, integrated LEDs, dimming, and room suitability differ from model to model, and they matter as much as the way a fixture looks. The product page is the source for those details, and we keep it specific.
If a specification is unclear, ask before you order. A short question up front is easier than a return later. Hardwired fixtures should be installed by a qualified professional in line with local requirements.
Körven Studio currently serves the United States only. That is a deliberate choice. One market means the storefront, the currency, the delivery information, the support hours, and the product specifications all speak to the same customer, with no conflicting regional details in between.
Every order ships free within the U.S. Processing takes 1-2 business days and transit takes 3-6 delivery days (Monday-Saturday), so most orders arrive within 4-8 business days. If a piece is not right, a return can be requested within 30 calendar days after delivery.
The order cutoff is 2:00 PM Pacific Time (PT, America/Los_Angeles), Monday-Friday. Orders placed at or after the cutoff, on weekends, or on applicable public holidays begin processing on the next business day.
Our mission is simple: help people shape a room through light, without needing a designer, a renovation, or a large budget. One well-chosen fixture changes how an evening feels. We want the choice to be an informed one, so we say what a piece does, what it does not do, and who should install it.
The vision is a focused lighting store that people come back to for years, and a home in every U.S. state where the last hour of the day feels a little warmer because of a piece from Körven Studio. We would rather grow slowly, with clear product pages and real answers from support, than grow fast with vague listings.
